2021.10.20 11:01 B1TW0LF Mentak Coalition Strategy

The Mentak Coalition is a hard faction to pin down. They do have a powerful bag of tricks, but it's often difficult to turn those advantages into a cohesive plan to win. I'm curious to find out what the community thinks about how to play this faction, so here are a some discussion questions:

  1. Not knowing anything about the objectives, what technology path would you plan on taking?
  2. What do you look for in a Mentak Coalition slice? What kind of technology skips are best for Mentak?
  3. What are you looking to accomplish turn one? How would you prioritize strategy cards during the first strategy phase?
  4. Is Mentak Coalition best played as a late game economic/combat powerhouse, or as an aggressive midgame cruiser faction?
  5. How do you leverage their Pillage ability? Do you embrace the role of the space pirate and pillage at every opportunity? Or do you use the threat of Pillage as a negotiation tool?

2021.10.20 11:01 Kalsten Where can I get a 4-slots polearm?

This is my first character in D2. I am doing a Blizzard sorceress, and I have just entered ACT3 nightmare. I though I had read that Act 2 in Nightmare is the best to get a 4-slot polearm for my merc, but I have just finished and not a single one.
Is there a specific place where I can farm them, perhaps?

2021.10.20 11:01 araldor1 Would it be theoretically possible to speed up computers using time dilation?

If we were somehow able to shift a group of humans into orbit of a black hole long term and experience time dilation relative to say a computer in the center of Boötes void?
If we were able to also set up a way of the teleportation of information using quantum mechanics could this be used to compute information in a machine faster (as the humans in orbit would experience time at least?)
I'm sure there's some kind of law that would prohibit this from working but was curious. I know there's a finite limit on the potential utility of it as no mass (in this case humans) wont be able to reach the speed of light so there is an upper limit.

2021.10.20 11:01 skooter46 Can we flip the script?

Intuitives are so dumb, they don’t even respect reality, therefore can’t comprehend true facts. How many mental illnesses do you have?
Thinkers are so inefficient. It’s a waste of time to consider every opinion, just skip to the right one that you’re going to confirm biasedly anyway.
Sensors are smart because they don’t assume things that aren’t there. Grounded. Visceral. Popular.
Feelers are loyal, enlightened, honest And The most human of humans. Don’t agree? Cry about it.

Robit v7S pro: $119.99 after $100 coupon. Well aware that it is not worth full price, but still seems like a good deal for a robot vacuum.
Not a brand name by any means, but good reviews and #3 in Amazon sales for robot vacuums. Seems like it has pretty powerful suction and 30 days money back guarantee so decided to give it a try to see how dumb it is.
Also a more powerful model with good reviews as well for $30 more : … B08L8Z6JPJ

2021.10.20 11:01 Shakuro_com Online Store On WordPress: Pros And Cons

Pumpkins. Turkeys. Scented candles. People need so many things when autumn starts. And that’s why launching an online shop this season is always a good idea. But where to begin? First and foremost, you will need to find the best platform for your store.
WordPress is the world’s most popular and widely-used content management system. 40% of websites exist on it. But is WP really worth it, or is it just a fashion these days?
There are several benefits that it provides:
- Quick start. On average, it will take you 4 minutes to set up a basic website (without a catalog of products).
- SEO, SEO, SEO! The bread and butter of e-commerce. Easily install plugins like Jetpack and Yoast SEO to boost conversions.
- Pleasant mobile experience. The platform has a responsive layout for mobile devices as a default feature.
- Unlimited opportunities for expansion. If you have a friendly programmer or a designer at hand, you can do literally anything to your website with plugins, and themes available.
- Content independence. You can change the design as much as you like - the structure won’t break; the data, pages, and product cards will remain in their places.
- Open-source software. With WP, you can extend functionality with ready-made code. But what’s more interesting, you can write some of your own.
But “free”, “easy”, “simple” don’t necessarily mean “good”, right? Without quality hosting WordPress can be very slow to load. Also, if you install 1000+ plugins without a professional, and then one of them suddenly updates - your shop is going to fall like a deck of cards. And, of course, there is no technical support.
So, the bottomline is this: WordPress is like a lightsaber. You can do great things with it. It makes everyone extremely jealous. But it can also be dangerous without proper knowledge…

2021.10.20 11:01 MediaClean First post - question for people who do struggle with social skills

I apologize in advance if I mess this post up somehow - I literally created my profile to ask this question.
Okay, so, my boss. Nice guy for the most part. A little arrogant, but has a good heart I think. However - his social skills are horrendous and he does not respect boundaries at all and I'm too nice of a person to do the whole "just tell him how he makes you feel" thing because I know it'll just hurt his feelings. He's not so arrogant that I am okay with hurting his feelings. But he annoys the living daylights out of me and several other people in the office. Issue is, my job has a rank structure AND he's the supervisor of the people he annoys. Including me. However, on the work side - he compliments my work, will stick up for me if anyone were to give me a hard time, and gives me a lot of freedom. I'm afraid if I confront him I will lose that freedom that makes me really love my job. I don't think that just because someone does one nice thing that then you should just be okay with dealing with the ten million mean or annoying unrelated things they do. I'm the type of person who, when I realize someone is a little socially awkward, I will be sure to be nice to them and include them in things because I don't ever want them to feel bad - but this guy beats all I've ever seen. For context, he supervises me and one other person who I share an office with. This office is sort of the "Unit Headquarters" - kinda. Like the printer and the coffee machine (that is the annoying supervisor's personal and nobody but him ever uses) is in our office- even though there's room for it in his own. The annoying supervisors office is the very next room in the hall. And the person I share the office with is even more annoyed than I am. Things he does:
Spends literally hours in MY office a day
Eavesdrops and comments on EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION my office mate and I have
Anytime someone in the building drops by to say hello to my office mate and I , here comes MR. Annoying to take over the conversation.
Invites himself to lunch outings.
Comes behind my computer monitor and tells me where to click and what to look at when he's trying to show me something he could've just told me.
Repeats himself. Repeats himself. Repeats himself.
If he hears a phrase he thinks sounds smart or intelligent, he will work it into every conversation for the next 8 hours.
Asks me if I got an email we both received and, when I tell him I did, he continues to tell me the content of the email I just told him I got
Uses my office as a thru-way (my office is the nearest exit to his, so I do understand this to an extent)
Makes suggestions that are obvious just to make him feel like he's contributing and to sort of flex the knowledge that, honestly, he really doesn't have (everyone he supervises actually has more experience than he does - I know -that's an issue in and of itself)
Boasts about himself in a way that, if he had social skills, he would realize is making him look like a braggart. I believe he was like homeschooled or something and just doesn't have good social skills. He is the type that if some random person said something nice about his work he would forward that to a supervisor HIMSELF just to get the atta-boy.
Makes jokes that are not funny if you're older than 5 and then LAUGHS HISTERICALLY at them.
Every. Single. Time. he walks by my desk (15 times a day) he has to either make a silly face a me, picks something up and moves it on my desk like he's "messing" or "playing" with me, or say "well dont you just look lost in thought."
I experience so much bystandevicarious embarrassment from him I cannot take it. I want to ram my head into a wall. I believe, from conversations we have had (a group) in the office, that his wife like boasts his ego and tells him and treats him like he is the ultimate authority, so he comes to work with this attitude of he "knows what's up" -when he doesn't. But he's not outwardly rude. He is just annoying and like a little bit arrogant. Its the weirdest thing. I dont think he has Asperger's, but I do believe he was raised in a way that causes him to mimic those behaviors.
My question is: Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior without hurting his feelings or having to have an awkward conversation? This morning he started his normal annoying routine so, when he FINALLY left my office, after giving me four million obvious suggestions for a problem I didnt ask him about, I pulled my door closed (because he is the supervisor of my unit, he has a key) he comes in a goes "what ya closin' me out now?" and makes a silly face. I just awkwardly laugh but I want to scream "YES! YOU 50 year old MAN CHILD ! GO THE HECK AWAY! STOP!"
Also - I am 100% positive he does not have a crush on me or my office mate. So its not that.
